Kota KinabaluFunnel analysis for finance apps

From the first screen to the first ringgit.

Logic Pulse Core sits with banking, wallet, lending, and investment teams while an applicant tries to open an account, pass a MyKad capture, and move money. We write down the step that actually ends the session — not the step the slide deck named.

Who we sit with

Product, operations, and the colleague who can freeze a field.

Finance apps in Malaysia live with e-KYC vendors, DuitNow rails, CCRIS-related consents, and cooling-off copy that cannot be wished away. The applicant still has to finish the path on a phone, often after work, often with a MyKad that picks up kitchen glare.

We work with digital banks, e-wallets, lenders, and investment distributors who already have a live journey. If you are still choosing a vendor, this is the wrong engagement. If people start the journey and vanish at document upload, it is the right one.

Typical rooms we enter:

  • Account opening for a savings pot or current account
  • Wallet registration through to the first top-up
  • Personal loan or card apply-flows with payslip upload
  • First unit-trust or discretionary portfolio subscription

The office is in Kampung Kepayan. The walkthrough can happen on your staging build from anywhere in Malaysia, or in person in Kota Kinabalu or Kuala Lumpur.

Principal review

Conversion funnel audit

One named journey, three to four weeks, a written drop-off map, and a ninety-minute briefing. We complete the path as a new applicant would — including failed selfies and expired sessions — then rank friction by whether it stops the person, not by whether it is easy to patch.

From RM 18,500. Implementation stays with your engineers. We do not install software in your stack.

When the stall is in one stretch of the path

Some teams already know the damage sits in identity, funding, lending, or subscription. Those reviews are shorter and stay inside that stretch.

A focused reading of MyKad capture, selfie liveness, address proof, and the retry loop that quietly ends many Malaysian applications.

First-funded-account and first top-up reading

After the account exists, many applicants never move a ringgit. We walk DuitNow, FPX, card, and cash-in routes to see which one actually completes.

Lending and credit application walkthrough

Personal loan, credit card, and BNPL apply-flows carry income fields, CCRIS consent, and cooling-off copy. We read the path an employed applicant actually survives.

Investment and unit-trust subscription path

Risk profiling, product highlight sheets, and cooling-off are not cart steps. We walk a first subscription the way a new investor in Malaysia actually meets them.

Sequence

Four weeks, if screen access arrives on day one

  1. Intake

Lock the journey, the applicant type, and the steps Legal will not move.

  2. Walkthrough

Complete the live or staging path, including the failures you can reproduce.

  3. Map

Write the drop-off notes against the screens, in English, for internal use.

  4. Briefing

Ninety minutes with the people who can change a field or refuse to.

The fifth selfie was the finding

We knew registration looked fine and funded accounts did not. Logic Pulse Core sat through the e-KYC retry until the vendor session died and the app called the MyKad invalid. That sentence in the report is what we took to the vendor. I still wish the write-up had arrived a week earlier — we delayed staging access on our side.
